INGREDIENTS:
- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1.5 glass olive oil
- 500-600g honey
FILLING:
- 600g walnuts, largely chopped
- 100g almonds (optional)
- 1 cup sugar, preferably black sugar
- 2 tablespoons brandy
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
METHOD:
Combine all filling ingredients and mix well. Unroll phyllo dough and place one sheet of phyllo in a baking pan. Sprinkle some nut mixture on top. Place another sheet of phyllo dough and add some more nut mixture. Repeat until no more ingredients are left. Use a knife to cut baklava all the way to the bottom of the pan. Boil the oil in a small pan until hot. Once ready, pour it over the baklava and into the scored lines. Preheat the oven to 180ºC and cook until golden brown. Before letting cool, drizzle with honey. Enjoy!
