INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup hot water
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1 tablespoon butter (for spreading)
- 1 tablespoon honey (for spreading)
METHOD:
In a bowl, add the yeast with water and leave for five minutes until the yeast rises. Add the honey, olive oil, salt and egg and mix well. Then, add three cups of flour and blend in mixer until the dough becomes sticky. Replace the beater with a dough hook for kneading and add the rest of the flour. Knead at low speed for eight minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. Put the dough in a bowl slightly greased with oil, make sure it becomes oily on all sides and cover with cling film. Let it rise in a warm place for approximately 2 hours. Once ready, slightly knead. Cover with a clean towel and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then, divide the dough into 12 equal round pieces.
Put them in a round tray, slightly greased with butter (23 – 26cm). Cover and let them rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200ºC. At this stage, melt the butter with honey in a saucepan and spread on the breads. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
